The Veneers Process
On average, the dental veneers process consists of two appointments. The first step in perfecting your smile with veneers (sometimes referred to as laminates) is a consultation at which you and one of our knowledgeable doctors will discuss the goals you hope to achieve for your smile. Once we’ve defined a course of treatment, some light enamel removal is required for the veneers to fit seamlessly into your smile. We then take molds of your teeth to aid us as we hand-craft each individual veneer out of porcelain with precision and care. At the second appointment, we’ll attach the veneers after ensuring each one fits just right. Once the veneers are bonded to your teeth, you can enjoy a totally transformed smile that will dazzle and wow!
No! One great benefit of veneers is that porcelain doesn’t stain. For those who only have a few teeth with veneers bonded to them, it should be noted that your natural teeth are still susceptible to staining. Good routine oral care, biannual visits to the dentist, and a stain-conscious diet are still recommended to keep any staining at bay.
If well cared for, veneers can last anywhere from 15 to 20 years. Be sure to keep up with brushing your teeth two times a day for two minutes each time and flossing daily. This helpful habit preserves the veneers and keeps them from showing early signs of wear and tear.
The cost of veneers is unique to each patient’s smile. When you come in for your consultation, we’ll be sure to provide you with a cost estimate. Don’t let financial concerns keep you from achieving a smile you love. We offer a variety of financial options to help fit your brand new smile into any budget.
