The Invisalign Process
First, we’ll take impressions of your teeth and use those impressions to map out your treatment plan on our smile preview software. Then, we’ll send your plan — along with your impressions — to a lab where they’ll create your custom aligners. The aligners resemble a retainer or mouthguard, and you’ll wear each set for about two weeks before switching them out for the next ones. Each set of aligners will progressively straighten your teeth more and more until you’ve reached your end goal.
Benefits of Invisalign
- The aligners are clear, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.
- Invisalign is removable, and so you can take them out to eat, brush, and floss.
- Unlike pokey brackets and wires, the aligners are made with a smooth plastic material that won’t irritate your cheeks and gums.
FAQs
Invisalign candidates often have mild to moderate alignment issues. Patients with severe misalignment are usually not good candidates for the treatment. During your consultation, we’ll thoroughly examine your smile, and discuss your smile goals, lifestyle, and budget to determine if Invisalign is right for you.
When patients are finished with their treatment, we’ll usually fit them for a retainer that they’ll wear all day for the first few weeks and then transition to wearing just at night. Wearing a retainer is common practice after an orthodontic treatment to keep teeth from shifting and moving out of their new positions.
The cost of Invisalign is based on the severity of your alignment issues, your overall oral health, and more. At your consultation with Dr. Park or Dr. Sandhu, they will walk you through the cost breakdown and discuss your payment options. One of our team members can also look into your insurance coverage and see if your orthodontic treatment is covered.
